Flute

The flute belongs to the woodwind family. Although most woodwinds use reeds, the flute is a reedless wind instrument that makes sound from the flow of air against an edge. There are many types of flute, many of which date to prehistoric times. One of the most common is the Western concert flute. Other flutes include: the alto flute, the piccolo flute, and pennywhistles.
